Welcome to UC Solar

UC Solar Notice:

For years, the UC Solar Multi-Campus Research Program was a trailblazer in advancing solar and renewable energy research, pioneering breakthrough solutions, forging critical partnerships, and hosting a series of successful symposia. These symposia served as vibrant platforms, drawing together industry leaders, academics, and policymakers to engage in enriching discussions and collaborate on innovative solutions. This dynamic exchange not only spurred significant progress in sustainable energy but also laid the foundation for our new Energy Center.

While our new Center builds on this rich legacy, this UC Solar site will remain as a historical archive, preserving the detailed journey and milestones of UC Solar. For more on our past achievements, please explore the extensive materials available on this site.

We sincerely thank all our partners, researchers, and supporters who contributed to UC Solar's success.

Mission:

UC Solar faculty, students and postdoctoral researchers are dedicated to designing and developing innovative solar energy generation technologies that are more efficient, more affordable, and easier to integrate. UC Solar is made up of participants from University of California's Merced, Berkeley, Santa Barbara, Davis, San Dieg, Riverside, Irvine, Santa Cruz and Los Angeles campuses, and it is supported by research grants, philanthropic gifts, and corporate sponsors.
